Invoicing from the chat: a walkthrough
Short answer
You ask for the invoice in plain words. Your assistant shows you the client, the line, the VAT, the total and the number. You say yes, and it is finalized. It is not sent until you say so. The names and numbers below are fictional demo data.
1. Ask for the invoice
You type: Make an invoice in Billingz for Saltmarsh, 300 for consulting, then finalize it.
In our test, the assistant used Billingz and showed the invoice before it finalized anything: the client, the number it will take, the line, the VAT, the total and the due date. It also said which values are defaults, such as the VAT rate and the payment term, and asked whether to finalize it as shown.
2. Check it
This is the moment to read it, because your assistant can be wrong. Check:
- The client is the right one.
- The amount is what you meant, and the VAT is added to it.
- The due date suits you.
3. Say yes
You type yes. Your assistant finalizes the invoice and tells you it has its number and that it has not been sent to the client yet. A link opens the invoice in Billingz. In Activity, a line shows what was done, marked as done through the assistant.
Whether your assistant asks first depends on the assistant and on the settings you chose in it. To keep the last word in Billingz, switch the connection to Ask me in Billingz, and the action waits under Needs you. Drafts do not wait.
4. Record the payment
When the money arrives in your bank, you type: Record a payment of 369 on invoice 0022/2026. Your assistant asks which day it arrived. You answer, for example 4 November, and it records the payment. The invoice shows as paid and nothing is still owed.
Billingz never moves money. Recording only records what you received.

Common questions
Is the invoice sent when I say yes?
No. Finalizing gives the invoice its number and does not send it. Your assistant tells you it has not been sent yet, and sending is a separate request.
Where do I see what my assistant did?
In Activity. Every action shows there as one line, marked as done through the assistant.
What if my client is abroad, or I invoice in another currency?
For now that invoice is made in Billingz itself. Your assistant can prepare it as a draft, and you finish it there.
Does the assistant move the money when I record a payment?
No. Billingz never moves money. Recording a payment you received only records it.
